Pound the chicken breasts to an even thickness of about 1 cm and season both sides with salt and pepper.
In a skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the chicken breasts and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
In the same skillet, add 2 cloves of minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Add 0.25 cup of lemon juice and scrape up any brown bits from the bottom of the pan. Stir in 0.25 cup of capers and simmer for 2 minutes.
Return the chicken to the skillet and spoon the sauce over it. Cook for an additional 2 minutes until the chicken is heated through. Serve with the sauce drizzled on top.
