Preheat your oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
In a large bowl, combine 1 kg of grated potatoes, 0.5 cup of cream, 0.5 cup of cheddar cheese, and 0.25 cup of melted butter. Mix well until everything is combined.
Add 0.5 teaspoon of black pepper, 0.5 teaspoon of salt, and 0.25 teaspoon of garlic powder to the mixture and stir until evenly distributed.
Transfer the potato mixture to a greased baking dish, spreading it evenly.
Sprinkle an additional 0.5 cup of cheddar cheese on top for a cheesy crust.
Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes or until the top is golden and the casserole is bubbly.
Remove from oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
