Delicious and hearty black bean burgers packed with plant protein, served on toasted buns with your favorite toppings.

drained and rinsed
preferably brown rice
diced
chopped
for cooking
In a large bowl, mash the black beans with a fork until mostly smooth, leaving some chunks for texture.
Add cooked rice, chopped bell pepper, cilantro, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
Form the mixture into 4 equal patties.
Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add a bit of oil. Cook the patties for about 5 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and heated through.
While the burgers are cooking, toast the buns in a separate pan or oven until lightly browned.
Assemble the burgers by placing the patties on the toasted buns and adding your choice of toppings and sauce.
